Style and colour are very personal. To find the style you like why don't you try cutting out pictures from magazines, they could be of other interiors or colours you like from nature.Think about the feel of the room you are trying to create and what sorts of furniture or pictures will go into it. For example, if you are decorating a dining room that is only used occasionally do you want it to be fun and exciting, or quiet and formal?
Colour swatches are a simple way to check out your proposed new colour scheme against the fabrics of your curtains and lounge suite. You can take the swatches home and pin them to a board with swatches of the fabric and any other finishes you might have in the room, like tiles, to get the overall scheme of your new interior.
Once you have decided on your colours, why not grab a sample pot and try it out in your room to make sure that you are happy. Remember different light in different rooms can greatly influence the look of the colour, so make sure you have a practice run.
Most of all have fun! This is a chance to really show your individual flair. |
