Our colour experience will hopefully provide some useful tips in most situations:
- Always have a purpose in mind for the colour you are choosing
- Choose textiles, fabrics and other furnishings prior to selecting your paint colours
- One colour should always dominate a colour scheme and is generally the colour of the largest area
- Avoid using two colours of the same strength
- Every room should have some focal point or point of interest ie. accent colour, feature wall, furniture or artwork
- Generally you should use warmer colours in rooms facing south and cooler colours in rooms facing north or west
- Darker colours work well on architraves, skirtings and trim detail
- Whites & beiges can take on a tint of an adjacent colour
- Enjoy the colour scheme process - the more research you do, the happier you'll be with the end result!
- Always use sample pots, before you purchase your paint, to ensure the colours you have chosen are right in your home
