If it works in nature it works in colour schemes. Make sure you look closely at nature when looking for inspiration. Remember that the proportions of colours need to be carefully considered. If you look at most combinations of colour you see in nature, there will be one that is more dominant than the other and most are related. For example wattle is yellow on a green shrub, but it is small dots of yellow on a bigger green background, not even sized blocks of colour.
Lighting natural or other can greatly affect the appearance of colours so make sure you pick up a sample pot and test an area of your wall before you begin painting. You may find that you like the colour in the day, but hate it at night. If you are not going to change your lighting, this could be a problem. Remember that the proportions of colours are very important. Strong or intense colours can be very dominant in a room. Have a play on '
